Brooklyn-based graffiti artist turned vinyl toy mogul Brian Donnelly aka KAWS, continues to progress toward world domination with the upcoming KAWS:SUMMER collection from our favourite Japanese retailer UNIQLO.

Becoming one of the most popular and recognizable contemporary artists working right now is no easy feat. With continuous museum and gallery shows around the world, including the current MoCA Detroit, High Museum, Yorkshire Sculpture Park in England, and more, to the large scale temporary pop-up art installations which featured a 121 meter floating COMPANION that visited Seoul, Hong Kong, and Taipei. Plus, quarterly collectible vinyl toy releases, sneaker collaborations, and even high fashion collaborations with the likes of Dior, KAWS is the peoples champ of the contemporary art world.

For their fourth collaboration together, UNIQLO presents a 22 item collection under their pop culture meets art and fashion collection UT (UNIQLO T-shirt). The range will carry forth UNIQLO’s LifeWear ethos promoting designs featuring his beloved COMPANION and BFF characters as the perfect way for fans to express themselves in the collection.

“I am happy to have this opportunity with UNIQLO to design a collection of T-shirts and tote bags inspired by some of my favourite sculptures that will be made accessible to a global audience,” says KAWS.

The full collection will feature twelve t-shirts for adults, six t-shirts of kids, and four tote bags priced from $14.90 to $19.90 CAD and be available at CF Toronto Eaton Centre starting on June 6th for pre-launch, and online at UNIQLO.ca & all other Canadian stores on June 7th.
