We had the pleasure of experiencing the Joe Fresh spring summer 2013 range back at their splashy runway show at World Mastercard Fashion Week and earlier this week we got a sneak peek at what the collection will look like in stores next season.
Starting with finely mixed textiles and textures on the styled mannequins, the entire collection was downright delightful, especially at this chilly time of year. Bursts of vibrant and subdued pastel pinks and peach lined on side of the room, with a mod patterned shift dress and dreamy rose patterned jeans and a delicate silk button down catching our eye. Metallic touches to light cotton sweaters and flowey dresses make for some of the collections more formal, runway items, and blend through into the classic black, white, and grey section with silver tipped pumps, many silky white pieces, and a clear plastic clutch with a wallet within it which brings to mind 3.1 Phillip Lim’s 2-in-1 31 minute bags.
Shoes ranged from pumps done in mesh and leather, suede, and polish leather, to canvas ked-style lace ups in a rainbow of colours. A Cambridge-style satchel was shown at the amazing price point of $99 in celeste, white, and light acid green, while a faux crocodile print bag in a metallic silver will make a perfect everyday shoulder bag come spring.
For men, paisley, stripes, and solid classics are shown in black white and red, with the exception of a polo shirt, which is available in every vibrant colour of the season. We also got to preview the beauty coming for spring, with pastel heavy eyes, cheeks, and nails, which made the classic red lips pop on the runway earlier this month.
It seems Joe Mimran has become a master of affordable modern sportswear, dutilizing high fashion tailoring to keep not only the masses but the fashion crowd hooked on his clothes season after season.
