Last week we had the pleasure of viewing Jessica Mary Clayton’s inaugural collection for Spring Summer 2012 at the Tendril Design and Animation Studio in Toronto on a few perfectly positioned manikins, still shots hung artfully throughout the space, as well as a few party-goers wearing Clayton’s pieces from head to toe.
On first sight the clothes looked luxurious, effortlessly stylish, and minimal revealing the designers expert tailoring and precision. Inspired by Ed Burtynsky’s Oil Series, which was shot over the past 30 years across the Clayton’s hometown of Fort McMurray, Alberta, the collection was produced in conjunction with Chris Bahry of Tendril Design, featuring his prints, pictured below, on many of the pieces.
We’re excited to see where Jessica Mary Clayton goes from here, and hope to score ourselves a few pieces, just as soon as we find out where to buy them! Take a look at our shots from the presentation and a few of our favourite ensembles from the lookbook.
