After years of helping shape the Apple Music Super Bowl Halftime Show, JAŸ-Z is finally taking center stage. Apple Music, the NFL, and Roc Nation have announced that the rap icon will headline the Apple Music Super Bowl LXI Halftime Show at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles on Sunday, February 14, 2027.
If you’ve been paying attention over the past year, this one isn’t entirely out of left field. JAŸ-Z has been on a run of massive stadium shows celebrating the 30th anniversary of Reasonable Doubt, selling out Yankee Stadium along with dates in London, Paris, and Los Angeles, all without hinting at new music. A Super Bowl halftime performance felt like the natural next move.

“From Reasonable Doubt to standing on the Super Bowl Halftime stage, this has been a journey,” JAŸ-Z said. “Thirty years of music, work, and culture on the world’s biggest stage. This run continues to be a dream come true.”
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell revealed he had hoped this moment would happen for years, saying one of his first requests after partnering with Roc Nation was that JAŸ-Z eventually headline the halftime show himself.
Apple Music’s Vice President of Music and International Content, Oliver Schusser, added that after working closely with JAŸ-Z to bring some of the world’s biggest artists to the Super Bowl stage, seeing him perform himself is “going to be an incredible show.”

The Apple Music Super Bowl LXI Halftime Show will air on ESPN, ABC, Disney+, NFL+, ESPN Deportes, and Univision. Roc Nation will executive produce the performance, with veteran live event director Hamish Hamilton returning to direct.
Considering the run of blockbuster halftime shows over the past few years, JAŸ-Z stepping onto the biggest stage in music feels less like a surprise and more like the moment everyone has been waiting for.
