Everyones favourite “new” luxury brand, Jacquemus, held its Fall/Winter 2022 runway show yesterday, and as always, it was a spectacle. The off-calendar fashion show occurred in Arles in the South of France in the stunning white salt mountains of Camargue park. This season’s collection, “Le Papier,” is a shift away from the previous “Le Splash” by emphasizing Simon Porte Jacquemus’ spiritual reset in the days leading to his wedding. Jacquemus spoke to Vogue, saying, “I started working on the collection with the obsession to restart from nothing, like a white page.” As a result, the setting and the collection went perfectly hand in hand, playing off each other to the most beautiful of effects.

The show started with models walking over the white dunes in all white, blending in perfectly with the setting. From there, the colours and tones emerged, starting from white and fading to black; the collection hit all the soft tones along the way. With pieces inspired by bridal designs, “Le Papier” bounced between casual wear and more formal with relaxed blazers, modified wedding gowns and lots of veils and sheer pieces. They were contrasted with puffy jackets and vests, lots of zippers, and pockets galore. Also making their real-world debut was the much anticipated Jacquemus x Nike Humara sneaker, which is set for release today,  June 28.
