Yesterday morning we had the pleasure of previewing J. Crew’s second Toronto location, and their first-ever menswear shop in Canada, located downtown at the Toronto Eaton Centre. Situated on the third, and most swanky level, dangerously close to Massimo Dutti, the Apple Store, and Ann Taylor’s soon to open first Canadian store, the signature J. Crew magic buzzes even before you enter, with a J. Crew Hearts Toronto sign hung in the window display.
Intricately designed displays of jeans, blazers, and cashmere sweaters were complimented by colourful and oh-so of the moment coffee table books. Statement jewelry sparkles in glass cases, while must-have shoes rest elegantly under apothecary-style glass domes dotted throughout the vignettes. Aside from the perfectly prim mannequins throughout the store, the intricate displays are greatly enhanced by natural elements like drift wood, raw cut quartz stones, and manzanita branches.
Divided into three rooms, the back section of the women’s area houses a glorious shoe and bag boutique with flats of every variety imaginable, decidedly Manolo-esque mary janes, as well as a fine assortment of pointed, t-strapped, and tasselled pumps.
Head to the left and you’ll find yourself in the bespoke feeling menswear boutique complete with over sized vintage globes, egg baskets filled with socks and boxers, and distressed shelves with casual, dress, and collaborative New Balance runners. At the front entrance, a vintage jewellery case houses some wallets, wayfarers, Miansai rope bracelets, Timex watches, and some stunning ties, while the back area features their popular suiting boutique called, The Ludlow Shop.
New to all J. Crew stores this season is their Personal Stylist service, available at no extra cost to their customers, to make sure every customers styled need are met. They’ll continue to expand into Fairview Mall later this month with a new shop opening on October 31st.
We can’t wait to shop here for seasons to come and are excited to share our photos from yesterday with you below.
