American singer-songwriter Sam Beam has announced Beast Epic, the first new Iron & Wine record since 2013’s Ghost on Ghost. Slated for release on August 25 via Sub Pop, Beast Epic follows Love Letter for Fire, Beam’s collaborative LP with Jesca Hoop that was released last year, as well as Sing Into My Mouth, an album of covers with Ben Bridwell.
Beast Epic was written and produced by Beam, recorded and engineered by Tom Schick at the Loft in Chicago and mastered by Richard Dodd in Nashville.
In addition to the album’s announcement, Iron & Wine has shared the video for it’s lead track “Call It Dreaming”, directed by J. Austin Wilson, and a slew of North American dates that will see Beam on the road from the end of this month until mid-November.
