At Sidewalk Hustle we’re always on the look out for cool mashups. There’s nothing better than experiencing two totally opposite worlds collide, and that’s why when we were asked us to be part of the Clarks Mashup in Toronto, we jumped at the chance.
Highlighting Clarks new Trigenic line of footwear, which feature craft construction and modern innovation, the Clarks Mashup unites a handful of local crafts people, from both traditional and new fields in Toronto. Together these crafts people will create something totally unique and unexpected inspired by the Clarks Trigenic collection.
The Trigenic Flex has Clarks’ illustrious heritage at the core of its design. Blending the brands honed expertise in both form and function, the range is inspired by the iconic Wallabee design, featuring deconstructed premium leather panels, cut and built with comfort in mind to really gel to your foot through an asymmetric last and hand carved hornbeam form. The Trigenic is also designed with a de-coupled, three-part outsole that flexes to the foots natural movement, adding grip, stability, and durability through a Vibram sole.
The Clarks Mashup follows the journey of three unconventional pairings: blacksmith with a DJ, a glassblower and a light designer, and a woodworker with a 3D projection artist.
We’re excited to collaborate with local DJ Andrea, otherwise known as DJ YUKNODIS and Paul Krzyszkowski, the nineteen-year-old behind local business, Toronto Blacksmith. So what do a blacksmith and a DJ have in common? Follow along on Instagram using #ClarksMashup as we reveal what they’ve created together in the coming weeks.
