Based in Perth, Australia, St. South is singer/songwriter Olivia Gavranich’s project is a true gem that should be discovered by the world.
Her mellow indie-electronic sound is created by folky guitar, layered with tight electronic beats, and filled out by her distinctive warm voice. Gavranich’s lyrics cut deep and her floating vocals are whispery and vulnerable that can easily silence a room.
St. South entered the Bon Iver Stems Project in August 2012 and won with her song ‘We Washed Texas’. The beautifully layered song, recorded, mixed and mastered by herself in her home studio, is a remix combination of three of Bon Iver’s songs (Holocene, Hinnom. TX and Wash) with her original vocals and lyrics.
