Instagram has launched a campaign in support of mental health awareness. Launched on May 8, the campaign encourages users to open up about their personal struggles with mental illness and participate in a global conversation using #HereForYou.

In a recent interview with ABC News, Instagram’s Chief Operating Officer Marne Levine said:

“People come to Instagram to tell their stories in a visual, and through an image they’re able to communicate how they’re feeling, what they’re doing. So what we decided to do is to create a video campaign highlighting these communities of support that exist in Instagram.”

In a short video, the photo sharing app speaks to various mental health advocates including Sad Girls Club’s Elyse Fox. Visit instagram-together.com to watch the video and to learn more about the campaign.
