Barry McGee’s solo exhibition I’m Listening is on view at Perrotin Paris from April 26 to May 24, 2025. This is his second solo show at the gallery’s Paris location and his sixth with Perrotin overall.

McGee, a key figure in the Mission School movement, draws from his background in graffiti, skateboarding, and surf culture. The show includes paintings, sculptures, surfboards, and collages. His signature cartoon faces and bold geometric patterns appear across many works, including a large wall of framed pieces that feels like a city street come alive.

The exhibition reflects the noise and chaos of modern life while also pointing to hope and resilience. Recurring symbols like cherries stand for love and renewal. McGee describes the show as responding to the problems in the world today but also celebrating the creativity that helps people stay strong.

A limited-edition print is available alongside the show. I’m Listening continues McGee’s blend of street art and fine art, inviting viewers to reflect on both the mess and the beauty of everyday life.
