If you could bottle up the unforgettable essence of the South Pacific, then you’d have the new fragrance from Hermès. Created by Christine Nagel, creative director of Hermès Perfumes, l’eau de toilette Un Jardin sous la Mer, combines mineral notes, tiare flowers and tamanu nuts for a fresh, yet delicate olfactory experience that evokes the ocean, mountain air, and a crisp floral garden of Polynesia. Floral and musky, and inspired by the Polynesian island of Taha’a, Un Jardin sous la Mer is the perfect fragrance to usher in a new season.
Housed in a bottle designed by Fred Rawyler, the shape is reminiscent of the lines found in the lanterns used with horse-drawn carriages. The graduated shades of blue are meant to reflect the azure sky and crystalline waters around Taha’a. The box echos the fragrance with gorgeous watercolour illustrations by artist Aino-Maija Metsola.
L’eau de toilette Un Jardin sous la Mer, 100ml retails for $196 CAD and is available at Hermès stores across Canada and Hèrmes.com.
