Back at the start of spring, Andy Butler’s ongoing disco-house project Hercules & Love Affair returned with a sleek and sexy new track titled “Controller” which features Horrors frontman Faris Badwan.
Now, we’ve got another new track that’s another sweet collaboration at that! The new song is titled”Omnion” and features the wonderful Sharon Van Etten, who also collaborated with Hercules & Love Affair on the “Not Myself” remix to honour victims of the Pulse Nightclub shooting. It’s also the title track off their upcoming new album Omnion.
Read what Butler and Van Etten had to say about the track via Pitchfork below…
Andy Butler:
“I feel so blessed to have had Sharon Van Etten sing “Omnion.” She is an artist of incredible depth and authenticity and her voice is so inviting yet truly has a mystery about it. Those qualities rendered a beautiful interpretation of a song that is ultimately an appeal to the divine for help and healing. With such a generous spirit and kindness about her, she was a joy to work with.”
Sharon Van Etten:
“This song is so vulnerable, but strong. Coming to terms with identity and finding community… (in my mind). It’s a very important time to share in that sentiment… I really appreciate Andy reaching out to collaborate. His heart beats in his songs.”
