Hayley Elsaesser Launches Japanese Eyewear ‘Slimetime’

Hayley Elsaesser Eyewear

Just in time for one of the most perfect spring days we’ve seen yet this season, Toronto designer Hayley Elsaesser has announced she will be launching a brand new collection of eyewear. The collection is called Slimetime, and is made from high quality acetate, specially in Fukui, Japan, where they are known for producing incredible well crafted eyewear.

As suspected, the first look at the Slimetime shades above gives us a good feeling these sunnies will be dripping with as much cool as her fall winter collection was back at World MasterCard Fashion week. According to the press release the collection was inspired by the designers time in Australia, where she first launched her label, and the Slimetime frames will be available in three colours including red, pink (pictured above), and blue in glittery acetate.

“When designing I often think of entire looks including shoes, accessories and jewellery, so this is always something I wanted to explore,” said Elsaesser. “The idea for the sunglasses came to me one night when I couldn’t sleep and it went from there.”

This is just the beginning of Elsaesser’s collection as she plans to produce cell phone cases, hats, silk scarves pins, tote bags, patches, and socks each season. YAY!
