Somali-American model Halima Aden has landed her very first Vogue cover.
The 19-year-old hijab-wearing model, who is signed to IMG Models, is Vogue Arabia’s June 2017 cover girl. Aden gained mass media attention last fall for wearing a burkini and a hijab in the 2016 Miss Minnesota USA pageant and made headlines for donning a headscarf during Kanye’s Yeezy Season 5 runway show this past February.
