GucciCore has arrived in New York, with Gucci unveiling a new campaign that places the collection at the center of the city’s energy and everyday movement. Following its runway debut in Times Square this past May, the collection returns through a series of images that explore the relationship between personal style and the spaces where it exists.
Photographed by Peter Funch, the campaign brings together groups of individuals across New York, drawing from the photographer’s ongoing exploration of the connection between the individual and the collective in urban environments. The images reflect the idea at the center of GucciCore: different people, different styles, and different approaches to dressing coming together much like the streets of New York itself.
The collection focuses on the foundation of a wardrobe, bringing together familiar staples including the peacoat, trench coat, business suit, essential shirt, and pencil skirt. These pieces are balanced with expressions of Italian glamour and elegance, creating a core wardrobe that feels Gucci unmistakably while remaining connected to the practicality of everyday dressing.
GucciCore represents a return to the building blocks of the House’s visual language, focusing on pieces designed to be worn, styled, and interpreted in different ways. Under the artistic direction of Demna, Gucci continues to explore the relationship between its heritage and a modern approach to luxury, while remaining connected to the Italian craftsmanship that has defined the brand since its founding in Florence in 1921.
