With the last day of Governors Ball coming to a close, the sun began to set over Grizzly Bear’s sweet sweet tunes at the main stage. The mud was drying out ever so slightly and people lay along the side of the grass and sat on the concrete near the stage while they played hits from 2012’s critically acclaimed album Shields as well as cuts from 2009’s Veckatimest and a few off 2006’s Yellow House.
It could not have been a more perfect set by Brooklyn favourite’s but like many of the bands at the festival, they’re due for some new material and the crowd, while loving it, seemed to be somewhat made up of people staking out spots for Kanye West’s set directly following. We also spotted Freddie Gibbs and crew watching the set from the side stage. Personally we were there both to see Grizzly Bear and to secure a good spot for West’s set. Take a look at our photos below as well as the full set list.
