For Spring Summer 2015 Greta Constantine presented a collection exercising a delicate balance of opposites. Soft blushes, greys and neutrals juxtapose with rich, saturated jewel tones, with a capsule collection of black and white serving as a transition. In fabrications including microfiber knit, silk wool, cotton eyelet, silhouettes play with balance as well – feminine cocktail dresses with tiered ruffled panels stand beside sleek laser-cut bodysuits.
Designers Kirk Pickersgill and Stephen Wong’s offering depicts “a tug-of-war on contemporary female identity, between a gentler, ladylike nurturer and a bolder, brasher vixen”. The theme was carried all the way to the finale. with the sophisticated runway music giving way to the party anthem “Mo Money, Mo Problems”. The final curtain was drawn from the Kool Haus’ stage, revealing the entire collection presented as a tableau. Stand out pieces: a black jumpsuit with side cut outs and a white skater dress with large scale perforations.
