Future Islands have shared the lyric video for their track “Cave,” taken from their forthcoming album The Far Field.
The video’s lyrics aren’t actually spelt out with text, but instead are delivered by New York City Mayor Bill De Blasio’s official American Sign Language interpreter Jonathan Lamberton. The interpreter went viral in 2015 after a clip of him signing at one of mayor De Blasio’s announcements. Lamberton, who is deaf himself, has worked with a hearing-abled partner to deliver a non-traditional and emphatic interpretation for the deaf.
The Far Field is out April 7 on 4AD.
