Danish model Freja Beha Erichsen is gracing the cover of the WSJ Magazine’s September Women’s Fashion issue, which is the largest issue the magazine has produced in their seven-year history. In an editorial designed to “evoke the romantic spirit of hazy, lazy afternoons in easy pieces and flocculent outerwear from the fall collections,” Freja wears Gucci, Isabel Marant, Chloé and more amongst a lush green backdrop, and is photographed by Lachlan Bailey, and styled by Ludivine Poiblanc.
Freja was discovered at 15 years old by a scout while on the streets of Copenhagen, something that was unexpected for the self-proclaimed tomboy, as she, “grew up playing soccer with the boys.” She finds her androgynous look to be advantageous as, “it wasn’t that far out of her comfort zone,” and enjoys the, “process [of her modeling career] – collaborating with the photographers, traveling and seeing different cultures.” The 27 year old model is currently pursuing her high school equivalency degree, and has previously landed campaigns for Chanel, Tiffany, Saint Laurent, Chloé, Louis Vuitton, and more.
