Film: I Am Number Four

As most of you who follow us on Twitter (@SidewalkHustle & @HawleyDunbar) know we recently flew to Los Angeles to attend the premiere of the forthcoming film I Am Number Four starring Alex Pettyfer and directed by D.J. Caruso.  We were fortunate enough to not only attend the world premiere but also walk the red carpet and attend the after-party at the W Hotel, which we will talk about in forth coming posts.

To quickly summarize, without giving away anything official trailers haven’t already told you, the film is about a young man, played by Alex Pettyfer, who’s an alien taking refuge on earth, blah blah blah he meets a girl named Sarah, Glee’s Dianna Agron, and then more stuff happens. Come on, we were going to give away any details! Along with Pettyfer and Agron, who do a supurb job as the leads in this film, Aussie actress Teresa Palmer, Timothy Olyphant, and Canadian Kevin Durand round-out the remarkable solid cast making for an excellent all-around film.

The movie was enjoyably intense, which isn’t surprising, considering director D.J. Caruso is known for his big screen action thrillers, including Eagle Eye, Disturbia, and Two For The Money. We had very little expectations going in, but we were pleasantly surprised when we left. In fact, it has been a couple of days since we saw I Am Number Four but we are still talking about it! That, in itself is a testament to the films excellence. Couple all of that with the fact that the soundtrack is really top notch, with songs by our personal favourites like The Black Keys, The xx, Jimmy Eat World and The Temper Trap, and you have a guaranteed hit! We highly recommend it!

Watch the trailers below to get a taste of I Am Number Four before it hits theaters next Friday, February 18, 2011. Trust us, you are going to want to see this movie.
