We are pleased to present the new video from artist, rapper, humanitarian Filip Filipi “Mandolins Cry|Blood In My Eye”. You may remember Filipi from his incredible Toronto Blue Jays re-imagined Native Art Snapback cap which had all heads turning this past summer. The video was made to commemorate the conclusion of the ‘Srpske Zemlje, Srpski Rod’ humanitarian project which Filip has been working on for the last two years. It’s a project started in honor of his grandmothers who are both from regions (Kosovo and Krajina) where ethnic Serbs were forcibly driven out. Since its inception the project has grown into a massive initiative which resulted in millions of dollars worth of aid being delivered to people in need in various countries through the humanitarian organization 28. Jun.
The video was directed by Gregory J. Brown and produced by Mia Divac and is a personification of the struggle of the Serbian people through the videos main character. Watch below and find out more about 28. Jun here.
