Over the weekend, Italian luxury fashion house Fendi presented their men’s spring/summer 2023 collection. Featuring a total of 53 unique looks, the collection leans into the idea of summertime holiday destinations as the theme. This doesn’t really mean much until you get into the colour palette used by designer Silvia Venturini Fendi, which includes earth, sky and sea tones, which tap into gorgeous indigos, fresh melon, ochre, putty, and beautiful silver greys. These are the colours and tones that draw our eye, and although we are still a few seasons away before this hits the streets, we’re stoked for this to be the colour spectrum of summer.

“It’s about a balance of decoration and simplicity, an ageless sense of freedom to play, as we rediscover the luxury of free time,”  states Silvia Venturini Fendi. This sentiment is the baseline for the entire collection. with the actual pieces imbue a sense of bohemian wanderlust with the oversized, breezy fits, with a healthy dose of embellishments from soft fringe and tassels to terry towelling and beaded daisy chains. At the same time, the collection clearly takes inspo from mid-’90s workwear/skatewear aesthetic, especially with the abundance of denim-heavy and what looks like cotton khakis, but which are actually made from ultra-thin Nappa. This may be a bit hard to contextualize simply from our vague descriptions, but we’ve attached the whole runway show collection below. However, before we go there, here are a handful of our top looks:

As you can see from our faves, the FENDI Men’s Spring/Summer 2023 collection is also stacked with accessories, including bags, hats, jewelry, and shoes. Of particular note are the beaded cowhide skate shoes with terry lacing to the giant bilious ‘inflatable’ slides and the fringed denim and suede moccasins. Another prominent piece to the collection is the cut-out bucket hats; while cool, seemingly not the greatest for afternoons spent in the sun.

Also of note are the new FENDI Roma bucket bag and duffel styles in toile and leather, which feature wrap-around bold logo-ing. Giving off beach vibes to the max are the bright summer Peekaboo ISeeU Forty8 bags in recycled plastic and an indigo ‘jeans jacket’ Peekaboo with an added water bottle holder at the front. Which, if we are being completely honest, throws the look of the bag off a bit.

With all that, we now invite you to ignore everything we said and deep dive into the whole collection below.
