Following the Dior Spa Cheval Blanc Cruise eaelier this year with a floating spa pop-up along the Seine, Dior has opened the doors to its reimagined spa at The Hôtel Plaza Athénée in Paris, and it’s everything you dreamed of and more. The first spa from the iconic Parisian house originally opened in 2008 at the hotel with a shared and storied history on Avenue Montaigne and a clear vision of luxury in mind. The newly renovated space is the ultimate destination in the city of lights for wellness and relaxation. The spa boasts a private and peaceful experience, with luxurious treatment rooms weaving throughout four hundred square metres where guests can unwind between travels, enjoying holistic and high-tech beauty treatments to restore and balance the body and mind.
The space is a respite from the busy streets of Paris, with calming pale wood and stone drawing inspiration from the hotel’s elegant archways that instantly make you feel warm and relaxed. Featuring a sauna, a steam room, five single treatment rooms, one double room, a fitness centre, and a boutique with collection Privée, Christian Dior Iconic Perfumes, and Solutions Professionnelles, exclusive to the Dior Spa. Perhaps the most exciting part of the spa is a new light therapy suite, the first of its kind in a Parisian spa, equipped with a cronos light that enables guests to resynchronize their circadian and chronobiological rhythms to balance sleep patterns and energy levels.
Within the suite, guests can experience three new treatments that mimic the length of the ultradian cycle that regulates each day, perfect for jet lag. Inspired by the sun’s trajectory, each treatment features specific massage techniques and light intensities that awaken, recover, and relax the body and mind, plus strengthen the skin against daily aggressors like pollution, stress, and free radicals.
Going above and beyond the spa offers five different massage therapy experiences, three signature facial treatments and expert protocols, alongside skin technology treatments which utilize Dior Sapphire Crystal Micro-Abrasion, Hydrafacial, and LED therapy. Also exclusive to Dior Spa Plaza Athénée, is Le Sion Doir Privé Sur-Demande, a bespoke treatment for face and body combining cryotherapy and electrostimulation with facial massage to completely reset the mind and body.
Additionally, a body therapy treatment is on offer combining electrostimulation and cryotherapy to target cellulite, skin firmness, and fatty deposits through Waves 21 technology. To maximize each guests time in the spa, many of the services can be combined or added on to enhance your experience.
We had the opportunity to be one of the first to experience a treatment in September during fashion week, a restorative treat during a hectic time. Following the staircase from the grand lobby downstairs, you enter the spa and feel an almost instant state of calm. Before your service, you are first seated in Le Grand Salon, decorated with Dior home items like pillows and blankets, as well as lush with fresh flowers, Dior accessories, and a bar stocked with fresh fruit, cold-pressed juices, teas and supplements on offer. A therapist visits you to deliver a targeted booster that align with your chosen service served in a Dior crystal glass developed by local favourite Wild & The Moon, this one a glow shot with rosewater, cherry blossom, collagen, and acerola
Moments later you are whisked away to a gorgeous treatment room decorated with plush Dior pillows, soft lighting and a beautiful bathroom and changing area. Feeling a bit fuzzy after the flight we selected the D-Balance body treatment inspired by acupressure techniques to energize the body. A series of deep and precise massage techniques are performed to open up muscles to improve tone, and circulation, plus stimulate the body’s biorhythm to boost energy. Following the treatment, you’re escorted back to Le Grand Salon to enjoy a post-treatment wellness beverage, in this case, a matcha latte made with coconut milk, Agent Nateur holi(mane) collagen powder, served in a beautiful Dior ceramic mug.
