Cole Haan keeps it classy this fall with a campaign entitled “Born in 1928” featuring portraits of Maya Angelou, photographer Elliott Erwitt, astronaut Jim Lovell and model China Machado, who were all born in 1928. According to Cole Haan’s VP Erin Riley these fine people where selected for the campaign because “They are all vibrant examples of how timelessness and true style are born out of confidence — and that never expires,” and goes on to say that “they are as relevant today as they were in the past, and they all represent various perspectives that we thought would resonate with our consumer.”
Each icon was given custom Cole Haan shoes for the shoot to suit their style and play off the brands classic styles, and styled in an outfit selected by Tiina Laakkonen and photographed by Daniel Jackson.
After being sold to a private equity firm earlier this year, it’s the prefect time for Cole Haan to reinforce their impact and importance in the fashion landscape, outside of their previous involvement with Nike. Keep your eyes open for the campaign which will begin to circulate digitally on September 3rd.
