Yesterday we had the pleasure of sneaking a peek at what’s new to come in comfortable fashionable footwear and accessories from ECCO for the fall winter 2013 season. Celebrating their fiftieth anniversary the Scandinavian leather brand continues to produce some of the most beautiful leather shoes and accessories at an accessible price point when you take into consideration their stunning construction and inspired designs.
The autumn winter collection is a celebration of four trending themes including Replay, Reform Retold, and Tailored Nature which incapsulate an overall rugged minimalism across their highly wearable range. Huge sample pieces of their exquisite supple leather in current collection colours hung in one corner of the room permeating the space as we toured each trend for men and women.
The Reform trend is probably the most practical for everyday use with manageable heel heights in classically fashionable styles for women and wearable dress casual brogues and desert boots with contrasting laces for men in dusty blue, burnt orange, and black. The Retold trend riffs on retro styles we’ve come to love over time like loafers, smoking slippers, chelsea and buckled out slip ons, with a modern timeless touch from the brands signature aesthetic. The Replay trend is definitely on the sportier side for active use with a fashionable edge, and finally the Tailored Nature trend features a more rugged utility look easily achieved with the slouchy suede biker boots or a leather lined riding boot perfect for a Canadian winter.
The centrepiece of the entire collection was a signature moccasin constructed with one continuous piece of leather and contrast laces to celebrate their 50 year anniversary.
