English technology company Dyson, known for making the world’s best vacuum cleaners, hair dryers, air purifiers, and anything that involves a profound understanding of air, has officially entered the audio world with its new OnTrac headphones. With the introduction of the audio-only OnTrac headphones, Dyson puts its unique stamp on the personal sound device world.

Coming in four different colour sets, with the ability to purchase additional ear cushions and ear cups, the new over-the-ear headphones are fully customizable to match each person’s style and taste. The official four colour sets are “CNC Aluminum,” which is a gray finish with bright yellow ear cushions; “CNC Copper” which features a purple headband and matching ear cushions with shiny copper ear cups; “Ceramic Cinnabar,” which has a light red headband, matte ear cups in the same colour, and dark ear cushions; and finally, the “CNC Black Nickel,” which is essentially all black everything. You can purchase additional replaceable ear cushions and ear cups in the above colours, which give you up to 2,000 customizable combinations, allowing for maximal personalization.

The OnTrac is aimed at audiophiles. It has 40mm, 16-ohm neodymium speaker drivers and advanced audio signal processing, a frequency range from as low as 6 Hertz to as high as 21Hertz which is outside the range of the human ear, and a battery life of 55 hours with the noise cancelling on. Dyson achieved this by putting two high-capacity lithium-ion battery cells in the headband, which also helps with even weight distribution, making it very comfortable to wear for prolonged periods of time.

The headphones and accessories will be available starting on August 1 from dyson.com.
