If you’re looking for some of the best patios in the city look no further than The Drake Hotel. Their patio adjacent to Queen Street west and their intimate feeling Sky Yard are some of the top destinations for enjoying the short summer months in the six. We recently had a chance to preview their new summer menu as well as their innovative Drink Well Program.
The summer menus includes a gorgeous beet salad, some out of this world albacore tuna cevice and melt in your mouth Unagi Oshi.
PAN SEARED PICKEREL Fresh Ontario pickerel, salad of fennel, arugula, pickled cipollini onions, sourdoughcroutons, white anchovies
LOBSTER TEMPURA MAKI-Scallion, tobiko, Old Bay + yuzu-kewpie mayo
UNAGI OSHI-BBQ eel, avocado, kampyo
We bet you’re wondering what this Drink Well deal is all about?
Drink Well is The Drake’s spin on the typical bottle service offered. Instead of the melted ice bucket filled with overpriced liqueur and juice from concentrate there are 4 different services to choose from: Wine Service, Champagne Service, Beer Service and most excitingly the Craft Cocktail Service.
For the Craft Cocktail Service, patrons are paired with a mixologist and taught how to make classic cocktails like the Moscow Mule and a perennial summer favourite, the Mojito. We had the chance to try our hands at amature mixology and we can safely say that the results were mighty tasty. What’s even better is that each of the packages comes with bottled water to help you stay hydrated while poppin those other bottles and a range of late night bar snacks.
This spin on bottle service is exactly the kinds of things we’ve come to expect from The Drake. The grown up version is perfect for all kinds of nights out, but we’re definitely going to have to Drink Well at The Drake Hotel for our next ladies night.
