Drake has released his highly anticipated fifth studio album — a 25-track project titled Scorpion. Similar to Future’s strategy, the LP ostensibly splits Drake’s hip-hop and R&B affinities between an A and a B side.
The album features posthumous contributions from Michael Jackson and Static Major, as well as JAY-Z and Ty Dolla Sign. Scorpion also includes Drake’s massively successful singles “God’s Plan,” “Nice For What” and his recently released “I’m Upset.” Along with these tracks, a Mariah Carey-sampled “Emotionless” and “March 14” also finds the Toronto native formally acknowledging the existence of his rumoured child for the first time. This is Drake’s first album since 2016’s Views, and his first full-length project since last year’s playlist More Life.
Hilariously, the iTunes info of Scorpion also includes a short self-deprecating blurb written by Drake, which sarcastically lists the criticisms detractors commonly say about him. Below are the quoted text and the album stream. Enjoy.
