If there is anyone who knows how to outshine Kanye West the day after dropping a track loaded with rap heavyweights like “Cruel Winter,” it’s Drake.
Taking over the decks at OVO Sound Radio tonight, Drizzy dropped not one, not two, but three brand new tracks.
Drake managed to wrangle Gucci Mane for a feature on the first track to drop tonight, “Back on Road.” Repping Zone 6 in ATL and Toronto, both rappers deliver some effortless bars. The hook is brilliant (“Brrrr”‘s and all) and the verses go hard.
The studio cut of Justin Bieber’s “One Dance” remix was the second track tonight, and there is no doubt this is going to extend the life of this number 1 hit on the charts throughout the summer. It’s hot; we’re all going to be rinsing this track for months.
Drake rounded up the last of the new tracks with a freestyle called “4PM in Calabasas.” This joint is smooth, definitely the most relaxed of the three. There’s references to Leo DiCaprio, Kris Kardashian, Chris Farley, and a quick nod to Grandmaster Flash – all delivered over a glossy beat vaguely reminiscent of Warren G’s “Regulate.”
