Dixon Hall Music School Presents Music For Life 2011

We’re not usually the type to talk charity here at Sidewalk Hustle, but The Dixon Hall Music School is a place close to our hearts, that provides children with a chance to bring music and culture into their lives at a rate families can afford.

Situated in Toronto’s downtown east near Regent Park, Dixon Hall opened in 1929 as a soup kitchen and shelter, and now offers music lessons, access to affordable instrument rentals, summer programs, and free tickets to attend ballets, opera, and symphonies around the city to over 4500 children in the neighboring communities.

They’re holding a benefit concert and fundraiser later this month on November 30th at Arcadian Court called Music For Life which will feature a performance by Blue Rodeo’s Jim Cuddy. As individuals that grew up with music playing a big role in our upbringing, we know how important it is for children to experience music as a creative outlet.
