For Dior’s Haute Couture Spring Summer 2025 collection, creative and image director for Dior Makeup, Peter Philips went down the rabbit hole with his Alice in Wonderland and counterculture references.
“In contrast with this profusion of fabric and embroidery, I offered a perfectly clean, glowy and radiant face, with a touch of pink on the cheeks, and a graphic eyebrow,” said Philips.
There were punk references in the romantic-like mohawk hairstyles, braided updos and spiky eyebrows, while the model’s complexions were glowing in flushed cheeks, which Philips said was a “subtle boyfriend blush.” To create a luminous look, Philips prepped the skin using the Dior Capture Totale routine starting with Capture Le Sérum, followed by Capture Totale Hualushot.
After the skin was smoothed, Philips applied the Dior Forever Skin Perfect foundation to create a gorgeous, glowy finish. The boyfriend blush was achieved with Rouge Blush Colour & Glow 257 Dioiviera, 287 Dioriviera, 287 Dioramour, 457 Diorette or 757 Wiildior, depending on the model’s skin tone. “I applied it to the centre of the cheek and blended it downwards toward the jaw to add a subtle touch of pink to the complexion.”
For the eyes, it was all about the brows. “The ideas was to embody a sophisticated and rebellious punk spirit in a powerful and simple way,” he said. Philips used a combination of Diorshow On Set Brow and Diorshow Brow Styler and brushed upwards to create gaps.
Both the nails and lips were subtly accented to complete the look. Philips applied Dior Addict Lip Glow Oil – 000 Universal Clear and blotted out the shine, while the nails were kept natural in Dior Vernis 108 Muguet.
