In case you’ve been living under a rock for the past month, our beloved Dev Hynes, or Blood Orange, as his third project is known, has experienced super huge success and acclaim for his second album Cupid Deluxe (which came in at number two on my best albums of 2013 list), as well as some rather unsettling personal devastation when his East Village apartment burnt to the ground in mid December.
He’s bounced back by now and stronger than ever judging by this feature profile in this weeks The New Yorker. You can read the first quarter of the article here, but you’ll have to subscribe to get the other half.
So happy for Dev! If you haven’t already purchased Cupid Deluxe now would be a good time to get it together.
