The DANIEL ROTH Extra Plat Platinum keeps things quiet, but the details hit hard. Crafted in platinum and built around the Calibre DR002, the latest Extra Plat leans fully into traditional watchmaking, emphasizing balance, restraint, and hand-finished precision.

Developed by Master Watchmakers Enrico Barbasini and Michel Navas, the ultra-thin DR002 movement pairs a 4 Hz balance wheel with variable inertia geometry to improve precision and stability without sacrificing elegance. More than 70 hand-executed finishing operations bring the calibre to life, including rounded “bercé” internal angles and bridges refined in-house using traditional cabron tools.

The platinum double-ellipse case adds subtle weight and exclusivity, while the solid-gold dial features hand-carved pinstriped guilloché produced on a rose engine. A gold minute disc, black typography, downward-shaped lugs, and a light tan leather strap keep the overall look sharp and understated.

The Extra Plat Platinum does not overstate anything. That is exactly the point. It is disciplined, refined watchmaking rooted in technical integrity and traditional savoir faire.
