What would the Courrèges woman wear from the minute she wakes up to the end of the night? That’s what artistic director Nicolas Di Felice asked for the Fall Winter 2026 collection titled, “24 Hours in the Life of a Courrèges Woman.”
Aptly, the runway was designed to look like a city street, a set created by Rémy Brière, a long time collaborator of Di Felice. The first look to start the day was a white satin dress, like if satin bedsheets had been turned into a slinky dress with a geometrical edge, achieved from a metallic frame. Two more pieces followed, but done in a skirt. According to a release, these satin geometric-like pieces were inspired from the house’s archives of the 1960’s to 1980.
As the day progressed, Di Felice put his attention to daytime coats with trapezoidal cuts, tons of snaps, injected zippered and tailored details distinct to Courréges, which were stand-out pieces of the collection. The funnel necks coats and turtle neck shirts layered underneath were like a chic daytime armour of the modern woman. Di Felice drew from Belgium filmmaker Chantal Akerman to create urban references, from the organza subway tickets and tar-like effect on the denim. For evening, the subway tickets returned in neon, adding burst of whimsy, while the cut-out vinyl pieces had a sexy edge.
The Courrèges woman Di Felice has envisioned seems to have a minimalist sensibility during the day, and a sensual side she taps into at night. One thing you can definitely say she has is taste.
