Yesterday, COS presented their first-ever runway show in Athens AND their first-ever show inside an actual quarry, unveiling their Spring Summer 2025 collection. The jaw-dropping setting—the Dionyssomarble Quarry- isn’t just any quarry, though, as it has provided the marble used to build the Parthenon, making it the perfect backdrop for a collection that blends modern minimalism with sculptural elegance.
Against the towering white marble walls, models descended a sleek steel staircase, weaving through the cavernous space in 35 effortlessly chic looks. The contrast between the raw stone and COS’s signature clean lines creates a stunning interplay of structure and softness. The collection itself was a study in refined craftsmanship. Womenswear embraced sculptural silhouettes, draped fabrics, and deconstructed tailoring. Flowing materials and sheer layers added an ethereal touch, moving beautifully with each step, while pointed suede mules, classic ballerinas, and sleek knitted sock boots completed the look. Menswear took on a modern utility aesthetic, with sleeveless tailoring, silk sets, and refined Bermuda shorts adding a fresh take on classic styles. Light summer leather jackets layered over soft textures introduced a luxurious edge, finished with minimalist leather sandals and mule loafers.
This season also introduced a dreamy marbled print inspired by Renaissance paintings, created by pressing flower buds against a lens to capture a delicate blur of color. The palette was grounded in off-whites, warm earth tones, and deep browns, with muted blues transitioning into rich navy. At the same time, soft terracotta brought a vibrant energy to the womenswear collection. COS also showcased its commitment to innovation and sustainability with thoughtful details like adjustable fits and the use of Materra Hydroponic Cotton, an eco-conscious fabric grown indoors without soil or traditional irrigation.
The show wasn’t just about the clothes—it was also a star-studded affair. Guests included Adrien Brody, Jodie Turner-Smith, Sharon Stone, Gemma Chan, and Greece’s First Lady, Mareva Grabowski Mitsotaki, along with a host of international actors, musicians, and fashion creators.
With its fusion of history, artistry, and contemporary design, COS’s Athens debut was more than just a runway show—it was a breathtaking spectacle, proving once again that fashion isn’t just about clothing; it’s about storytelling, emotion, and unforgettable moments.
