Following their glittery debut collaboration at last year’s Pitti Uomo, British high-fashion label JW Anderson and American footwear staple Converse have announced a new forthcoming collection dubbed ‘Simply_Complex.’
Calling it a “labor of love and obsession” in a press release, Anderson’s newest collaboration with Converse is yet another foray into the creative free-for-all existing between high fashion and street style.
The collection features Anderson’s unique interpretations of the Converse Thunderbolt and Chuck 70 sneakers and places an “acute focus on materialization.” While the Thunderbolt has been reworked in both indigo denim and classic suede, the Chuck 70 and ultra-tall Chuck 70 XX Hi have been given a “flesh-out leather” treatment that sports a suede outer and a leather lining on the inside of the sneaker. Traditionalists will appreciate the serrated edge on the shoe’s tongue.
