Last week we were invited to The Drake Hotel to check out the latest footwear collections from Converse for the spring summer 2013 season. Carrying on with many of their collaborations which include Marimekko, John Varvatos, Green Day, DC Comics, and Jack Purcell, as well as their own in house collections, we’re looking forward to a fresh crop of stylish sneakers to kick around in.
New for the spring summer season are a range of neon sneakers in everything from high to low top, all the way to lace up gladiators and light weight summer shoes called ‘Chuck Its.’ Though all Converse are unisex, for the ladies, they’ve introduced a few neon creeper, disco striped platformed sneakers (also featured in Strawberry print in the Marimekko collaboration), as well a rather exciting array of dainty lightweight lace up wedge sneakers. They’ve also got a fresh range of pastel tone, animal print, floral, and camouflage sneakers in their classic unisex styles.
For men, John Varvatos has taken that distressed look he’s been known for in seasons past, to another level for spring 2013, reworking studs into subtler territory with gun metal and black waxed canvas, as well as a couple of really roughed up styles which look nearly crispy from being waxed and painted.
In the accessory department they’ve got slouchy duffles perfect for rocking to the gym as well as an range of neat retro feeling tablet and laptop cases done in a 60s mustard yellow and maroon.
Check out our photos from the preview below and look out for the collection in store soon!
