We’ve been grooving out to Raphael Saadiq since Lucy Pearl and Tony Toni Toné and when he branched out on his own with Instant Vintage back in 2002 we fell more in love than ever. We saw him perform at Coachella earlier this year and were absolutely amazed at his talent both as a songwriter on this new album, and his stamina performing in a paisley pant suit in the Coachella heat.
Our most favourite album was The Way I See It, but Stone Rollin’ is definitely a contender for this years best of list with its reworked vintage sound, garage production, and tight songwriting. We love this album so much, especially after seeing the below track by track interviews with Saadiq, and since having a chance to let it sink in these past few months, we decided to hook you guys up with a free album!
