Day 3

Exhaustion levels and temperatures, somehow simultaneously at an all time high today? Basically melting and moving at a sloth-like pace, but motivated by Skepta’s early set time. Mobilizing quickly while pre-gamming water, vitamins and beer hand in hand. Quick dip in the pool and off we go.

Still admiring the art.

Skepta shuts down the Sahara Tent like the UK boss he is, rocking Chanel sunglasses. His stage set up included a BK Telephone Box and graphics that mesmerized while he played Konnichiwa in its entirety. Sweating infinite amounts, breathing slowly, whilst simultaneously jumping up and down.

Jetting off site for a minute to the Beats By Dre House at Coachella to catch some rays with the industry folk. Cocktails and tacos with a side of hair braiding and good tunes? We’re in!

Then we met Khalid behind the scenes filming a Beats By Dre video! Very chill.

Quickly now, off to the Revolve Party at the Merv Griffin Ranch Estate for a coconut and a few selifes with Drake’s dad ? #SorryNotSorry.

Back at the festival just in time for Hans Zimmer, making his Coachella debut with the soundtrack from such popular films as Pirates of the Caribbean, Inception, The Lion KingThe Dark Knight, and a guest appearance by Pharrell Williams.

Back to the Coachella Stage just in time for Lorde’s incredible performance. Debuting a new song called “Homemade Dynamite” following her first live performance since 2014 (a secret show at Pappy & Harriet’s earlier this week), where she debuted another song called “Sober” off her forthcoming album Melodrama. Her Coachella set was beautiful, sonically speaking, but also amazingly choreographed, at times, inside a giant clear box.

You know you’re a big deal when they give you access to your own crane for the photo. Do it for the gram or it never happened.

Went to worship at the church of Justice for a while. Danced harder than we did all weekend to the live rendition of their highly addictive new album Woman. Basically felt like Susan Sarandon in their video for “Fire.”

Hobbled over to VIP for Kendrick Lamar’s closing Coachella set. Guest viewing area is half models and famous people… is that Wiz Khalifa? Was that P.Diddy sitting on the ground? Focus!

King Kendrick Lamar takes the stage to perform a solid set of hits including many fresh from his new album DAMN., bouncing between a cage in the middle of the crowd and the stage.

There were a few flames and lots of smoke, but it wouldn’t be a Coachella set if he didn’t bring out a few special guests. They included Future, Travis Scott and Schoolboy Q, who we saw leaving the VIP only moments before taking the stage.

Quick stroll through artist world for water before calling it on Coachella 2017. Feet are beginning to throb. Walk past Katy Perry, Selena Gomez, and The Weeknd which somehow reaffirms Coachella’s exhausting yet everlasting cool factor.

Stop for an editorial photo shoot with P. Diddy who makes kirate-like waves backstage with 2 Chainz. Tyler, the Creator walks up and says “You guys need one more?” #GOAT

Stop and talk to The Weeknd (who’s sporting Puma, nearly head-to-toe) about being from Toronto and that time he signed our limited edition Pax at Nomad a few years back. He declines to be photographed but makes up for asking if we had a good time; gotta love that Canadian politeness.

We consider for a moment going back to the Revolve Party to see Migos perform for the third time this weekend… but our feet quickly tell us that’s a bad idea.

That’s a wrap on another incredible Coachalla weekend! Who’s ready for Weekend 2?

Okay bye, going sleep forever under a Palm Tree now!
