Chanel has unveiled a new campaign offering a stylized look at Matthieu Blazy’s debut Métiers d’art collection for the house. Shot by Craig McDean and filmed by Rahim Fortune in New York, the campaign captures a cast of women including Julia Nobis, Penelope Ternes, Bhavitha Mandava, Josephen Akuei, Jesi Evans, Anok Yai, Feng Jiao, Anne Vyalitsyna, and Riley Lusher, moving through imagined personas and shifting eras.

Reflecting Blazy’s cinematic vision for the collection, the campaign is rooted in the energy of a cosmopolitan city, blending the house codes with an eclectic sense of character and transformation. “I like the idea that fashion allows you to be whoever you want to be,” Blazy said in the release. “It’s almost a sense of inventing your own superpowers.”

The imagery moves fluidly between references from the 1920s through to the present day, with silhouettes inspired by students, working girls, socialites, and superheroes. Elevated knits, denim, floor length gowns, hand painted skirts, and relaxed tailoring are styled alongside playful accessories including animal shaped bags, leopard print headpieces, brooches, pearls, camellias, and baseball caps.

As with every Métiers d’art collection, craftsmanship remains at the centre highlighting the savoir faire of the maison housed within le19M, including Lesage, Massaro, Goossens, Lemarié, Atelier Montex, and Maison Michel.
