CHANEL has announced that they will be partnering with the Palais Galliera to open the very first permanent fashion museum in France.
The exhibition gallery will open in 2019 and will be called “The Gabrielle Chanel rooms.” They will be located in the basement of the Palais Galliera and will be open to the public all year-round. The space will be dedicated to the history of fashion from the 18th century to present day. Additionally, there will be a learning workshop and bookstore.
Anne Hildalgo, the Mayor of Paris has said:
“Thanks to this prestigious sponsorship, our capital will soon have the first permanent fashion museum in France. The City of Paris is proud to be able to open this exceptional space to Parisians and visitors from all over the world. I would like to thank the House of Chanel for proving once again that Paris is the home of fashion.”
We’re officially counting down to 2019!
