While it may be the middle of Paris Fashion Week, French Maison Celine once again takes the unconventional route for their runway presentation by debuting its latest women’s collection with another Hedi Slimane-directed film. Titled “UN ÉTÉ FRANÇAIS,” which translates to “a French summer,” the Celine Summer 2025 women’s presentation is filled with youthful feminine energy.

Slimane was inspired while rereading Françoise Sagan’s La Chamade, a novel written in the 60s about a woman named Lucille between two lovers, a wealthy older gentleman and a younger, passionate editor. In addition, while reading, Slimane played Nico, and the Velvet Underground played in the background.

The collection and film feature short coats and mid-length pleated skirts, giving a schoolgirl energy. With baby doll dresses featuring silk bows and beautiful embellishments. With the collection, we also get a brand new fragrance named after the collection, UN ÉTÉ FRANÇAIS, and a beautiful new bag debuted. Named the Teen Joséphine, the bag has a curved handle for versatile wear and is available in polished luxurious materials like crocodile and amber lizard. It’s a fantastic addition to the brand’s already significant accessory line.
