Toronto born Paris-based Calla Haynes is the print genius behind the new brand CALLA. Inspired by coquettish women who use their clothes to communicate a sexy shyness, Haynes believes that design should rather focus on how women feel in their clothes rather than how one might perceive them.
The Parsons graduate honed her fine skills interning for Robert Normand and working with Olivier Theyskens at Nina Ricci and Rochas for many years. She later went on to design prints for clients like Alexander Wang, Erin Fetherston, Thomas Engel Hart, and Jeremy Laing.
The Spring Summer 2010 collection is deliciously print heavy and feminine with a modern edge.
