We caught our first look at Cadillac’s V-ONE Concept at The Quail during Monterey Car Week, where the brand pulled the covers off a single-seat, track-only hypercar built to showcase its racing DNA and future performance ambitions.

Not a road car but a serious statement piece, the V-ONE Concept is loosely based on the Cadillac V-Series.R race car while offering a more driver-focused experience for customers who want to take the wheel on a closed course.

Developed by Cadillac Racing, Cadillac Design, and race-car chassis builder Dallara, the concept uses the V-Series.R’s chassis, body panel moulds, and powertrain. Under the bodywork sits a naturally aspirated, hybrid 5.5L V8 producing 830 horsepower, including an extra 134 horsepower available instantly at the driver’s fingertips.

Cadillac says the goal is for the V-ONE Concept to deliver lap times within 10 percent of the V-Series.R while being easier to enjoy outside of a professional racing environment. The engine retains the race car’s distinctive sound but delivers more power, since it is not restricted by racing regulations. Each engine is hand assembled in Pontiac, Michigan, with every build taking 160 hours.

The design brings race inspiration into a more refined package. Instead of the V-Series.R’s vinyl wrap, the V-ONE wears a hand-painted finish that fades from silver at the front to Caspia dark blue at the rear, referencing the transition from day to night during an endurance race. Inside, the cockpit features race-inspired controls, a new steering wheel, a GT3-style racing seat and blue accents throughout.

Seeing it at The Quail, the V-ONE Concept felt like a glimpse into Cadillac’s next chapter of performance. There are currently no plans for production, but the idea of a customer-focused Cadillac built with race car DNA is exactly the kind of thing that gets enthusiasts paying attention.
