Bjork has premiered her new video for “Family,” an interactive virtual reality experience, at Montreal’s Phi Centre. Partnered with Red Bull Music Academy and Montreal’s DHC/ART Foundation for Contemporary Art, the video is part of Bjork’s current digital exhibition tour complimenting tracks taken from her 2015 album Vulnicura. The innovative exhibition, which only an artist at Bjork’s tier could pull off so seamlessly, has already toured through Tokyo and Sydney, and is now making its North American debut in Quebec.
Working with filmmaker Andrew Thomas Huang for “Family,” Bjork seeks to “push the limits of technology and emotional vulnerability.” Leave it to an artist like Bjork to find a way for her listeners to grasp her music in visual, and nearly tangible way.
