When we first heard about the new MAC Rollerwheel Liquid Liners’, we were excited! Liquid lining is definitely not the easiest skill to master when it comes to makeup, so their description of a training wheels liquid liner seemed like a win-win.

That excitement quickly faded when we began experimenting. First off the roller wheel applicator is a bit harsh when compared to your normal liner brush or liquid pen. The skin around our eyes is quite sensitive so the more gentle the applicator the better really. On our first application, we found the applicator didn’t pick up enough product to create a full, bold line. Instead we had to retrace our original line to get maximum pigment – not an easy task if you’re a liquid liner newbie!

The tiny spinning disk doesn’t really glide along the curve of the eye, instead it wanted to draw a straight line, which we all know doesn’t achieve the perfect classic cat eye swoop.

On the other hand, if you’re into geometric lines, when it comes to your eye makeup, then these liners might be great for you.

Our recommendation? Stick with your angled brush and gel liner and keep practicing before graduating to this product!

All four MAC Rollerwheel Liquid Liners are available at all MAC locations for $24.00 CAD
