Beaufille, LINE Knitwear, & Sid Neigum Fall Winter 2014 at Toronto Fashion Week

Beaufille, LINE Knitwear, Sid Neigum Fall Winter 2014 Toronto Fashion Week

Yesterday World MasterCard Fashion Week’s Fall Winter 2014 edition kicked off in Toronto and we were there to catch the three most hyped shows Beaufille, LINE Knitwear, and Sid Neigum, as well as a Coco Rocha sighting or two.

First up sisters Chloe and Parris Gordon formally of Chloe Comme Parris showed an edgy collection for their second season as Beaufille. Set to old school hip hop tracks by the likes of Craig Mack, Tribe Called Quest, and Krayzie Bone, the bad ass Beaufille girls stomped down the runway in powerful wearable garments touched with leather and their signature cut outs tacked back together with metal accents. The colour palette was fitting for winter, saturated by an interesting terra cotta red, midnight blue, grey, and various textures of black including embossed floral leather and garbage bag pleated leather.

Next up Coco Rosha set the tone at Line Knitwear as she casually strolled into her front row and waited for the show to begin. All the best knits started to roll down the runway including a matching cropped top and hot pant combo in bright fuzzy cobalt blue angora. Colourful pops of magenta, mint and midnight blue, cream, black, and touches of purple dominated the collection applied to oh so must have infinity scarves, knit jackets, and angora skirts and sweaters. We found the fine mesh with fuzzy kit speckles on t-shirts and pencil skirts most intriguing for fall layering while the patterned knit dresses looked cozy and wearable for colder winter temperatures.

Live classical music set the tone for the last show of the night presented by Sid Neigum. Dramatic structured neoprene garments and cut up heavy technical fabrics seemed to dominate the beginning of the collection which lightened up in construction to light drapey persimmon red and rust ensembles accessorized with belted coats, and textured shoe coverings. Brown textured knits softened the highly structured collection at times and textured gold lame took us back to the 90s in an updated way.

Check out some selected photos from all three shows below and stay tuned for more Toronto Fashion Week coverage tomorrow.
