We’ve been fans of Calgary, Alberta duo Beach Season since we first noticed their smooth sound a couple years back on the indie festival circuit. Now the boys have grown up and they’re ready to make waves. The project, made up of Sam Avant and Simon Blitzer, have announced the upcoming release of their new EP, titled Libra Year. With this also comes a new track titled “Tribes,” their most polished song yet. Band member Sam Avant explained to us how “Tribes” came to be…
“Tribes” was actually a resurrected song from a year ago that combined a couple relationships and love experiences that had evolved over time. We decided to create a tribal concept and metaphor because of the percussion and vocal samples we used. So eventually as we continued to work on the song it went through several stages lyrically and conceptually.
