Here it is, the official release of the almost mythical portioned, highly rumoured Apple touchscreen tablet, the iPad. This aesthetically beautiful, and awesomely revolutionary piece of technology was debuted today to much hype and fan fair. The iPad features a 9.7-inch Multi-Touch LED-backlit display with IPS technology, encased in a half-inch thick piece of aluminum weighing 1.5 pounds. It comes with slick apps for web, email, photos, videos, music, and eBooks, and is designed to work almost flawlessly with most current iPhone apps, small or upscaled in full screen. Further to this the new iBook Store allows you to buy and download books to read just as easily as music and movies onto your iPhone/Touch. The iPad is powered by a custom 1GHz Apple A4 chip and offers an expected 10-hours of video watching battery life with a staggering month of standby time. The iPad comes in two versions, one with Wi-Fi and one with both Wi-Fi and 3G. The iPad will be available for purchase in late March.
